A LETTER FROM
THE
CHAPTER PRESIDENT
My name is Sophia Polanski, and I am honored to serve as the President of Oklahoma Alpha Phi. I am a rising senior from Frisco, Texas, double majoring in Finance and Business Management at the University of Oklahoma. As I prepare for my final year as an undergraduate, I often find myself reflecting on how much Alpha Phi has shaped my college experience and how grateful I am for the women, opportunities, and memories this sisterhood has given me.
When I arrived at OU, I was searching for a community where I could grow, make meaningful friendships, and find my place on campus. What I found in Alpha Phi exceeded every expectation. From the moment I joined, I was surrounded by women who challenged me to become the best version of myself while supporting me through every success, setback, and milestone along the way. The friendships I have built here are some of the most genuine relationships I will carry with me long after graduation.
Alpha Phi is founded on our High Ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These values are woven into every aspect of our chapter. Whether we are supporting one another academically, serving our community, raising awareness for women’s heart health, developing as leaders, or simply celebrating life’s everyday moments together, our members are committed to living out these ideals.
One of the things I love most about Alpha Phi is the endless opportunities for growth. Through leadership positions, campus involvement, philanthropic events, professional development, and sisterhood experiences, Alpha Phi encourages every member to pursue her passions and discover new strengths. This past January, our executive team attended Alpha Phi’s Leadership Conference in Denver, where we learned from chapter leaders across North America and brought back ideas to help our chapter continue to thrive. This June, I have the privilege of representing Oklahoma Alpha Phi at Convention in Tucson, where sisters from across the Fraternity will come together to celebrate our shared values and vision for the future. Experiences like these have shown me that Alpha Phi is not just a college organization, it is a lifelong sisterhood and network of women who inspire one another to lead and succeed.
What makes Oklahoma Alpha Phi truly special is our people. Our members are involved across campus as student leaders, scholars, athletes, volunteers, and professionals. We are women with different backgrounds, interests, and goals, but we are united by a commitment to supporting one another and creating a chapter where every member feels valued and empowered.
To those considering Alpha Phi during recruitment, I encourage you to approach this experience with an open mind and an open heart. College is about finding a place where you can grow into the person you are meant to become, and for me, that place was Alpha Phi. This chapter has given me friendships that feel like family, opportunities I never imagined, and memories I will cherish forever. It has challenged me to lead, encouraged me to dream bigger, and reminded me that I never have to navigate life’s journey alone.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Oklahoma Alpha Phi. We are incredibly proud of the women who make up our chapter and the values that guide us each day. We cannot wait to meet the incredible women participating in recruitment and share what makes Alpha Phi such a special place to call home.
With love and gratitude,
Sophia Polanski
